Skookumchuk Narrows is located on the Sunshine Coast near Egmont. Skookumchuk means strong water. The difference of water levels from one side to the other can exceed two meters and can exceed 30km/hr.   There is an easy 4km hike to the rapids. There is two viewing areas to get a glimpse of these amazing tides. The Ebb Tide is what is pictured here, but you can also see the Flood tides which is the more of the waves.

Tranquil, Peaceful, Serene is how I would describe Halfmoon Bay.
Located on the Sunshine Coast, 40 minutes from Langdale. This is a vacationers dream with fishing, kayaking, wildlife, mountain biking and golf to name a few.
What an beautiful place.

Yesterday was a beautiful day to spend at the Bird Sanctuary.
Here is the link for their site http://www.reifelbirdsanctuary.com/

We arrived and the first birds we see are Canadian Geese.
This one must have been having a bad hair day as he did NOT want his photo taken.

You can easily spend 4 hours here exploring the trails and enjoying the tranquil sights.  The birds are pretty spectacular too!!!

The ducks look like they are coming up with a good game plan to get the seeds from us!
